Hello World!

Photo by Olena Bohovyk on Pexels.com Hello! I am Kimberly Muta, an aspiring author, a practicing teacher, and an engaging speaker. Creative writing is my focus. I got started writing fiction a few years ago with an Introduction to Creative Writing class at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska. My very first teacher was Felicity White, a warm and encouraging nurturer of baby writers.
After winning a free MCC class through the Creative Writing Forum Contest, I was emboldened to keep writing, producing several short stories and finally beginning a novel. I even stepped WAY out of my comfort zone to apply to the Maslow Family Graduate Program in Creative Writing at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Now I have completed an MA and MFA in Creative Writing, and I am revising my first novel for submission to agents. In addition, I am teaching English Composition at MCC and at Iowa Western Community College. I have updated my résumé and my references so that I can find a teaching gig in the South. (Winter and I are not on speaking terms.)
On this site, you will find blogs, daily writing prompts, and samples of my short fiction. I hope you enjoy reading my work and engaging in a little writing of your own.
Keep the ink flowing!
